Yahya ibn Sa'id told us: Awf told us: Abu al-Minhal told me, who said: I went with my father to Abu Barzah al-Aslami, and my father said to him, "Tell us how the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray the obligatory prayers." He said: "He used to pray the midday prayer - which you call the first prayer - when the sun declined; and he would pray Asr, and one of us would return to his dwelling in Medina while the sun was still bright." He said: "And I have forgotten what he said about Maghrib. And he used to like to delay Isha, and disliked sleeping before it and talking after it. And he used to finish the dawn prayer when one of us could recognize his companion sitting beside him, and he used to recite between sixty and a hundred verses."
