حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ ثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَن أَبِي بَلْجٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيُّ عَن أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَكَرَ الطَّاعُونَ فَقَالَ وَخْزٌ مِنْ أَعْدَائِكُمْ مِنْ الْجِنِّ وَهِيَ شَهَادَةُ الْمُسْلِمِ.

Bakr ibn Isa told us: Abu Awanah told us, from Abu Balj, who said: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa al-Ash'ari told us this, from his father Abdullah ibn Qays, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned the plague and said, "It is a stab from your enemies among the jinn, and it is martyrdom for the Muslim."
