حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ وَهُوَ النَّضْرُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ يَعْنِي الْقَاصَّ حَدَّثَنَا بُرَيْدٌ عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ لَمْ يَبْقَ مُؤْمِنٌ إِلَّا أُتِيَ بِيَهُودِيٍّ أَوْ نَصْرَانِيٍّ حَتَّى يُدْفَعَ إِلَيْهِ يُقَالُ لَهُ هَذَا فِدَاؤُكَ مِنْ النَّارِ قَالَ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ فَاسْتَحْلَفَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ أَسَمِعْتَ أَبَا مُوسَى يَذْكُرُهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَسُرَّ بِذَلِكَ عُمَرُ.

Abu al-Mughira - that is al-Nadr b. Isma'il, the storyteller - told us: Burayd told us, from Abu Burda, from Abu Musa, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When the Day of Resurrection comes, no believer will remain except that a Jew or a Christian will be brought and handed over to him, and it will be said to him, 'This is your ransom from the Fire.'" Abu Burda said: Umar b. Abd al-Aziz made me swear by Allah, besides Whom there is no god, "Did you hear Abu Musa mention this from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?" I said, "Yes," and Umar was pleased by that.
