حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الرَّجُلُ يُحِبُّ الْقَوْمَ وَلَمَّا يَلْحَقْ بِهِمْ قَالَ الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ.

Abu Nu'aym narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Wa'il, from Abu Musa, who said: It was said to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "A man loves a people but has not yet joined them." He said: "A man is with whomever he loves."
