Hushaym narrated to us, from Ya’la ibn Ata’, from Abd Allah ibn Sufyan al-Thaqafi, from his father, that a man said, "O Messenger of Allah" — and Hushaym also related it as, "I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, command me in Islam with something I need not ask anyone else about after you.’" He said, "Say: I believe in Allah — then be steadfast." He said, "I said, ‘Then what should I guard against?’" So he pointed to his tongue.
