Rawh told us: Ibn Jurayj informed us: Amr ibn Dinar and Amir ibn Mus'ab informed me — both of whom heard Abu al-Minhal say: I asked al-Bara' ibn Azib and Zayd ibn Arqam, and they said: We were two merchants in the time of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. We asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about currency exchange, and he said: If it is hand to hand, there is no harm, but if it is on credit, it is not permissible.
