Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us: Shu'bah told us, from Isma'il, who said: I heard Qays ibn Abi Hazim narrating from Jarir, who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on the night of the full moon, and he said, "You will surely see your Lord, Mighty and Majestic, just as you see this moon, not crowded in seeing Him. So if you are able not to be overcome regarding these two prayers before the rising of the sun and before its setting, [then do so]." Then he recited this verse: "Exalt with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting." Shu'bah said: I do not know whether he said "if you are able" or did not say it.
