حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَكَتَبَ بِهِ إِلَيَّ قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ أَنَّ أَبَا مُوسَى الْغَافِقِيَّ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحَادِيثَ فَقَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى إِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ هَذَا لَحَافِظٌ أَوْ هَالِكٌ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ آخِرُ مَا عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَا أَنْ قَالَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَسَتَرْجِعُونَ إِلَى قَوْمٍ يُحِبُّونَ الْحَدِيثَ عَنِّي فَمَنْ قَالَ عَلَيَّ مَا لَمْ أَقُلْ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ وَمَنْ حِفْظَ عَنِّي شَيْئًا فَلْيُحَدِّثْهُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Qutaybah bin Sa'id told us - and Qutaybah wrote it to me - Layth bin Sa'd told us, from Amr bin al-Harith, from Yahya bin Maymun al-Hadrami, that Abu Musa al-Ghafiqi heard Uqbah bin Amir al-Juhani narrating hadiths on the minbar from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Abu Musa said: This companion of yours is either a preserver or a destroyer. Indeed, the last thing the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, entrusted to us was that he said: "Hold fast to the Book of Allah. You will return to a people who love to narrate hadith from me, so whoever says about me what I did not say, let him take his seat in the Fire; and whoever has preserved something from me, let him narrate it."
