Hashim ibn al-Qasim told us: Shu'bah told us, from Asim ibn Kulayb, who said: I heard my father narrate from Wa'il al-Hadrami that he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pray: he said the takbir and raised his hands; when he bowed he raised his hands; when he raised his head from bowing he raised his hands; and he held his sides apart in his bowing and in his prostration; and when he sat for the tashahhud, he placed his right thigh over his left, placed his right hand on it, and pointed with his index finger, making a ring with his middle finger. Aswad ibn Amir told us: Shu'bah told us, from Asim ibn Kulayb, who said: I heard my father narrate from Wa'il ibn Hujr al-Hadrami that he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he mentioned it, and said in it: "and he placed his right hand over his left" - he said, and Shu'bah added another time in it: "and when in the bowing position he placed his hands on his knees and held his sides apart in bowing."
