And I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between them are doubtful matters which many people do not know. So whoever guards against the doubtful matters has absolved his religion and honor, and whoever falls into them falls into the unlawful - like a shepherd who grazes around a private pasture, being liable to graze within it. Indeed, every king has a private pasture, and Allah's private pasture is what He has forbidden. Indeed, in the body there is a piece of flesh: if it is sound, the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. It is the heart." Abu Nu'aym told us: Zakariyya told us, he said: I heard Amir say: I heard al-Nu'man b. Bashir say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "The likeness of the believers..." and he related the hadith.
