Yahya ibn Sa'id told us, from Zakariyya, from Amir, who said: Urwah ibn al-Mughirah told me, from his father, who said: I was with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, one night on a journey. He said to me, "Do you have water with you?" I said, "Yes." He got down from his mount, then went away from me until he disappeared from me in the darkness of the night. He said: He was wearing a cloak, and he went to bring his hands out, but could not do so from it, so he brought his hands out from beneath the cloak, and washed his hands and wiped his head. Then I went to remove his leather socks, but he said, "Leave them, for I put them on while they were pure," and he wiped over them.
