حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَبَهْزٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مَيْمُونَ بْنَ أَبِي شَبِيبٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ رَوَى عَنِّي حَدِيثًا وَهُوَ يَرَى أَنَّهُ كَذِبٌ فَهُوَ أَحَدُ الْكَذَّابِينَ.

Muhammad ibn Ja'far and Bahz told us, they said: Shu'bah told us, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit — Ibn Ja'far said: I heard Maymun ibn Abi Shabib narrate from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "Whoever narrates a hadith from me while believing it to be false is one of the liars."
