'Affan narrated to us: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, who said: Abu Ja'far 'Umayr ibn Yazid narrated to me: al-Harith ibn Fudayl and 'Umarah ibn Khuzaymah ibn Thabit narrated to me, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Qurad, who said: I went out with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, on Hajj. He said: I saw him come out from relieving himself, so I followed him with the water-skin, or the vessel — for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when he wished to relieve himself, would go far away — so I sat waiting for him on the path until the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, turned back, and I said to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, the water for ablution.' He said: So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came toward me and poured water on his hand and washed it, then put his hand into his palm and poured water with one hand, then wiped over his head, then took water with one hand again, then wiped over his head, then took a handful of water with his hand and struck it on the top of his foot, wiping his hand over his foot; then he came and led us in the noon prayer.
