حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ مَرْثَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْيَزَنِيِّ عَنْ دَيْلَمٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا بِأَرْضٍ بَارِدَةٍ نُعَالِجُ بِهَا عَمَلًا شَدِيدًا وَإِنَّا نَتَّخِذُ شَرَابًا مِنْ هَذَا الْقَمْحِ نَتَقَوَّى بِهِ عَلَى أَعْمَالِنَا وَعَلَى بَرْدِ بِلَادِنَا قَالَ هَلْ يُسْكِرُ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ هَلْ يُسْكِرُ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ قُلْتُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ غَيْرُ تَارِكِيهِ قَالَ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَتْرُكُوهُ فَاقْتُلُوهُمْ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Muhammad ibn Ubayd told us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq told us, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Marthad ibn Abdullah al-Yazani, from Daylam al-Himyari, who said: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are in a cold land where we do hard labor, and we make a drink from this wheat to give us strength for our work and against the cold of our land." He said, "Does it intoxicate?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Then avoid it." Then I came again before him and said the same to him. He said, "Does it intoxicate?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Then avoid it." I said, "The people will not give it up." He said, "If they do not give it up, then fight them."
