حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْمُسْتَوْرِدَ أَخَا بَنِي فِهْرٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاللَّهِ مَا الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا مِثْلُ مَا يَجْعَلُ أَحَدُكُمْ إِصْبَعَهُ هَذِهِ فِي الْيَمِّ فَلْيَنْظُرْ بِمَ تَرْجِعُ يَعْنِي الَّتِي تَلِي الْإِبْهَامَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Ibn Numayr told us, Isma'il and Yazid ibn Harun told us — Yazid said: Isma'il informed us — from Qays, who said: I heard al-Mustawrid, brother of Banu Fihr, say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "By Allah, this world compared to the Hereafter is only like when one of you puts this finger of his" — meaning the one next to the thumb — "into the sea; let him see what it comes back with."
