Waki' told us, Wabr ibn Abi Dulaylah, an elder from the people of Ta'if, told us, from Muhammad ibn Maymun ibn Musaykah — and he praised him well — from Amr ibn al-Sharid, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Delaying payment by one who can afford it makes permissible [the exposure of] his honor and his punishment." Waki' said: "His honor" means complaining about him publicly, and "his punishment" means imprisoning him.
