Abu Sa'id, the freedman of Banu Hashim, told us, Thabit told us, Asim told us, from Abu Munib, that Amr ibn al-'As said concerning the plague, in the last sermon he delivered to the people: This is a scourge, like a flood - whoever avoids it, it misses him, and like a fire - whoever avoids it, it misses him, but whoever stays, it burns him and harms him. Shurahbil ibn Hasanah said: This is a mercy from your Lord, a supplication of your Prophet, and the taking of the righteous before you.
