حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ قَالَ مَرِضَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ أَصْحَابُهُ يَعُودُونَهُ فَبَكَى فَقِيلَ لَهُ مَا يُبْكِيكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ لَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُذْ مِنْ شَارِبِكَ ثُمَّ أَقِرَّهُ حَتَّى تَلْقَانِي قَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَبَضَ قَبْضَةً بِيَمِينِهِ وَقَالَ هَذِهِ لِهَذِهِ وَلَا أُبَالِي وَقَبَضَ قَبْضَةً أُخْرَى بِيَدِهِ الْأُخْرَى جَلَّ وَعَلَا فَقَالَ هَذِهِ لِهَذِهِ وَلَا أُبَالِي فَلَا أَدْرِي فِي أَيِّ الْقَبْضَتَيْنِ أَنَا.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Affan told us; Hammad ibn Salama told us, he said: Sa'id al-Jurayri informed us, from Abu Nadra, who said: A man among the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, fell ill, and his companions came in to visit him, and he wept. It was said to him: "What makes you weep, O Abu Abdullah? Did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, not say to you: 'Trim your mustache, then leave it until you meet me'?" He said: "Yes indeed, but I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Allah, Mighty and Sublime, took a handful with His right hand and said: This is for this, and I do not care, and He took another handful with His other hand, Glorified and Exalted is He, and said: This is for this, and I do not care' — but I do not know in which of the two handfuls I am."
