حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ ابْنِ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْسَحُ وُجُوهَنَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَيُبَارِكُ عَلَيْنَا قَالَ فَجَاءَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَمَسَحَ وُجُوهَ الَّذِينَ عَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ يَسَارِي وَتَرَكَنِي وَذَلِكَ أَنِّي كُنْتُ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُخْتٍ لِي فَمَسَحْتُ وَجْهِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ صُفْرَةٍ فَقِيلَ لِي إِنَّمَا تَرَكَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِمَا رَأَى بِوَجْهِكَ فَانْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى بِئْرٍ فَدَخَلْتُ فِيهَا فَاغْتَسَلْتُ ثُمَّ إِنِّي حَضَرْتُ صَلَاةً أُخْرَى فَمَرَّ بِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَسَحَ وَجْهِي وَبَرَّكَ عَلَيَّ وَقَالَ عَادَ بِخَيْرِ دِينِهِ الْعُلَا تَابَ وَاسْتَهَلَّتْ السَّمَاءُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Yazid ibn Harun told us, al-Mas'udi informed us, from the son of Ya'la ibn Murrah, from his father, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to wipe our faces during prayer and bless us. He said: One day he came and wiped the faces of those on my right and my left, but left me out, and that was because I had entered upon a sister of mine and wiped my face with some yellow perfume. So it was said to me, 'The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, only left you out because of what he saw on your face.' So I went to a well and got into it and washed myself. Then I attended another prayer, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by me and wiped my face and blessed me and said, 'He has returned to the good of his lofty religion, he has repented, and the sky has poured forth rain.'
