Abu Abd al-Rahman told us, Musa ibn Ali told us, who said: I heard my father say: I heard Uqbah ibn Amir al-Juhani say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came out to us one day while we were on the platform (al-Suffah), and said: Which of you would like to go out every morning to Buthan or al-Aqiq and bring back two large, fine-humped she-camels every day without incurring any sin or severing family ties? We said: All of us would like that, O Messenger of Allah. He said: Then for one of you to go out to the mosque in the morning and learn two verses from the Book of Allah is better for him than two she-camels, and three verses better than three, and four better than four, and so on according to their number, better than camels.
