Ya'qub narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to us from Ibn Ishaq, he said: Yazid ibn Abi Habib told me, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Shimasah al-Tujibi, from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, "It is not lawful for a Muslim man to propose marriage over his brother's proposal until he withdraws, nor to bid over his brother's sale until he withdraws."
