Ziyad b. Abdullah al-Bakka'i narrated to us: Mansur narrated to us, from Amir, from Abu Karima, a man among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hosting a guest for one night is obligatory upon every Muslim. If he spends the morning at his doorstep deprived, it becomes a debt owed to him; if he wishes he may claim it, and if he wishes he may forgo it."
