Ibn Numayr, Ya'la, and Muhammad - meaning the two sons of Ubayd - narrated to us, they said: al-A'mash informed us, from Abu Amr al-Shaybani, from Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari, who said: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "My mount has broken down, so carry me." He said, "I have nothing to carry you on, but go to so-and-so." So he went to him and he provided him a mount. Then he came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and informed him, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Whoever guides someone to a good deed shall have a reward like that of the one who does it." Muhammad said: "for indeed his mount had broken down."
