Muhammad — that is, Ibn Ja'far — told us: Shu'bah told us, from Ishaq — that is, Ibn Suwayd — from Abu Habibah, from that same man, who said: I came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, having a need (to ask of him), and he saw on me some perfume (khaluq), and said: "Go and wash it off." So I washed it off, then returned to him; he said: "Go and wash it off." So I went and fell into a well, and I took a piece of clay and kept scrubbing myself with it; then I returned to him, and he said: "(Now,) your need."
