حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حُمْرَانَ بْنَ أَبَانَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى أُنَاسًا يُصَلُّونَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ فَقَالَ إِنَّكُمْ لَتُصَلُّونَ صَلَاةً قَدْ صَحِبْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمَا رَأَيْنَاهُ يُصَلِّيهَا وَلَقَدْ نَهَى عَنْهَا يَعْنِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hajjaj said: Shu'ba narrated to us from Abu al-Tayyah, who said: I heard Humran ibn Aban relate from Mu'awiya: that he saw people praying after 'Asr, and said: 'You are indeed praying a prayer which - though we accompanied the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him - we never saw him pray, and he indeed forbade it' - meaning the two rak'ahs after 'Asr.
