Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us from Ibn 'Ajlan, who said: Muhammad ibn Ka'b, that is al-Qurazi, narrated to me, saying: I heard Mu'awiya deliver a sermon upon this pulpit, saying: 'Know well that none can withhold what Allah gives, and none can give what Allah withholds, and the fortune of the fortunate does not benefit him against Him. Whoever Allah wishes good for, He grants him understanding of the religion. I heard these very words from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, upon these very planks.'
