حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَقُولُ عَلَى هَذَا الْمِنْبَرِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا بَلَاءٌ وَفِتْنَةٌ وَإِنَّمَا مَثَلُ عَمَلِ أَحَدِكُمْ كَمَثَلِ الْوِعَاءِ إِذَا طَابَ أَعْلَاهُ طَابَ أَسْفَلُهُ وَإِذَا خَبُثَ أَعْلَاهُ خَبُثَ أَسْفَلُهُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
'Ali ibn Ishaq narrated to us: 'Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak informed us, saying: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid ibn Jabir informed us, saying: Abu 'Abd Rabbihi narrated to me, who said: I heard Mu'awiya say, upon this very pulpit: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'What remains of this world is trial and tribulation, and the deed of one of you is like a vessel: if its top is good, its bottom is good, and if its top is corrupt, its bottom is corrupt.'
