حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مَعْبَدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ كَانَ مُعَاوِيَةُ قَلَّمَا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا وَيَقُولُ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ قَلَّمَا يَدَعُهُنَّ أَوْ يُحَدِّثُ بِهِنَّ فِي الْجُمَعِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ يُرِدْ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهُّ فِي الدِّينِ وَإِنَّ هَذَا الْمَالَ حُلْوٌ خَضِرٌ فَمَنْ يَأْخُذْهُ بِحَقِّهِ يُبَارَكْ لَهُ فِيهِ وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالتَّمَادُحَ فَإِنَّهُ الذَّبْحُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Affan told us: Shu'bah told us, he said: Sa'd ibn Ibrahim informed me, from Ma'bad al-Juhani, who said: Mu'awiyah rarely narrated anything from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he used to say - these words he rarely omitted, or would narrate them on Fridays, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: Whomever Allah intends good for, He gives him understanding of the religion; and indeed this wealth is sweet and green, so whoever takes it by its right will be blessed in it; and beware of excessive mutual praise, for it is slaughter.
