حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُثْمَانَ الرَّحَبِيَّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا رَاشِدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْمَقْرَائِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي حَيٍّ عَنْ ذِي مِخْمَرٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كَانَ هَذَا الْأَمْرُ فِي حِمْيَرَ فَنَزَعَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْهُمْ فَجَعَلَهُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَ سَ يَ عُ و دُ إِ لَ يْ هِ مْ وَكَذَا كَانَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي مُقَطَّعًا وَحَيْثُ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ تَكَلَّمَ عَلَى الِاسْتِوَاءِ.

Abd al-Quddus Abu al-Mughirah told us, he said: Hariz - meaning Ibn Uthman al-Rahabi - told us, he said: Rashid ibn Sa'd al-Muqra'i told us, from Abu Hayy, from Dhu Mikhmar, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: This authority was among Himyar, and Allah, Mighty and Sublime, took it away from them and placed it among Quraysh, and it will return to them. And it was thus in my father's book, broken into fragments, and wherever he narrated it to us, he spoke of it as continuous.
