'Abdullah narrated to us: Abu Salih al-Hakam ibn Musa narrated to me, he said: 'Isa ibn Yunus informed us, from al-A'mash, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from al-Mughirah ibn Sa'd, from his father, or from his paternal uncle, who said: I came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, at 'Arafah, and I took hold of the nose-rein of his she-camel, or its halter, and pushed him back. He said: "Leave him, for he has a need that has brought him." So I said, "Tell me of a deed that will bring me near to Paradise and take me far from the Fire." He said: He raised his head to the sky, then said: "Though you have made the question brief, you have made it a mighty and lengthy matter: worship God, associating nothing with Him; establish the prayer; give the zakat; make the pilgrimage to the House; fast Ramadan; and give to people what you would love to be given to you, and what you dislike for yourself, spare people from it." Then: "Let go of the she-camel's rein."
