Yahya ibn Ghaylan told us, he said: Rishdin told us, he said: Yazid ibn Abdullah — that is, Ibn al-Had — told me, from Abu Bakr ibn al-Munkadir, from Ata' ibn Yasar, from al-Sa'ib ibn Khallad, from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: that he said: "There is nothing that afflicts a believer — even a thorn that pricks him — except that Allah thereby records for him a good deed and thereby removes from him a sin."
