قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ زَمَنُ الْحَرَّةِ أَتَاهُ آتٍ فَقَالَ هَذَا ابْنُ حَنْظَلَةَ وَقَالَ عَفَّانُ مَرَّةً هَذَاكَ ابْنُ حَنْظَلَةَ يُبَايِعُ النَّاسَ قَالَ عَلَى أَيِّ شَيْءٍ يُبَايِعُهُمْ قَالَ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ قَالَ لَا أُبَايِعُ عَلَى هَذَا أَحَدًا بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
He said: 'Affan narrated to us, who said: Wuhayb narrated to us, who said: 'Amr ibn Yahya narrated to us, from 'Abbad ibn Tamim, from 'Abdullah ibn Zayd, who said: When the time of al-Harrah came, someone came to him and said: "This is Ibn Hanzalah" - and 'Affan said once: "That is Ibn Hanzalah" - "taking the people's pledge of allegiance." He said: "On what does he take their pledge?" He said: "On death." He said: "I will not pledge allegiance to anyone on this after the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him."
