Sakan ibn Nafi' narrated to us, who said: Salih ibn Abi al-Akhdar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Abbad ibn Tamim al-Ansari, that he heard his uncle - who was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him - say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, went out and prayed for rain, then turned toward the qiblah, turning his back to the people, supplicating, and reversed his cloak, and prayed two rak'ahs. Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: the idea behind turning the cloak is that just as the year turns, high prices turn to cheapness.
