حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ كَجُنَّةِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنْ الْقِتَالِ وَكَانَ آخِرُ مَا عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ بَعَثَنِي إِلَى الطَّائِفِ قَالَ يَا عُثْمَانُ تَجَوَّزْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ فِي الْقَوْمِ الْكَبِيرَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Yunus told us: Hammad — meaning Ibn Zayd — told us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Sa'id ibn Abi Hind, from Mutarrif, who said: I entered upon 'Uthman ibn Abi al-'As, and he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Fasting is a shield like the shield of one of you in battle. And the last thing the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, charged me with when he sent me to Ta'if was that he said: O 'Uthman, be brief in the prayer, for among the people are the elderly and those with pressing needs.
