He said: Haytham told us: Abdullah ibn Maymun al-Ash'ari told us, from al-Ala' ibn al-Harith, from Makhul, raising it [to the Prophet], who said: 'Whatever tree overshadows a people, its owner has the choice between cutting off what it overshadows or [allowing] its fruit to be eaten.'
