حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ بْنِ لَاحِقٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ عَنْ الطِّيَرَةِ فَانْتَهَرَنِي وَقَالَ مَنْ حَدَّثَكَ فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أُحَدِّثَهُ مَنْ حَدَّثَنِي قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا عَدْوَى وَلَا طِيَرَةَ وَلَا هَامَ إِنْ تَكُنِ الطِّيَرَةُ فِي شَيْءٍ فَفِي الْفَرَسِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّارِ وَإِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِالطَّاعُونِ بِأَرْضٍ فَلَا تَهْبِطُوا وَإِذَا كَانَ بِأَرْضٍ وَأَنْتُمْ بِهَا فَلَا تَفِرُّوا مِنْهُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas was asked about evil omens, and he scolded the questioner and said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'There is no contagion (spreading without Allah's will), no evil omen, and no hamah (superstition about owls). If there is any omen in anything, it is in a horse, a woman, or a house. And when you hear of the plague in a land, do not enter it; and when it falls in a land where you are, do not leave it.'
