Ibrahim ibn Ishaq told us: Hatim ibn Isma'il al-Madani told us: Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Yahya told us, from his father, from Ibn Abi Hadrad al-Aslami, that a Jewish man was owed four dirhams by him, and he sought justice against him, saying: "O Muhammad, this man owes me four dirhams and he has overpowered me regarding them." He said: "Give him his due." He said: "By the One who sent you with the truth, I am not able to pay it." He said: "Give him his due." He said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, I am not able to pay it. I have told him that you will be sending us to Khaybar, so I hope you will grant us some spoils there, so that I may return and pay him." He said: "Give him his due." And it was the Prophet's way, peace and blessings be upon him, that when he said something three times, he would not repeat it further. So Ibn Abi Hadrad took him out to the market, with a turban-cloth on his head, and wrapped in a cloak. He removed the turban from his head and wrapped his waist with it, then took off the cloak and said: "Buy this cloak from me." So he sold it to him for the four dirhams. Then an old woman passed by and said: "What is wrong with you, O Companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?" So he told her, and she said: "Here, take this" - giving him a cloak which she threw over him.
