Abd al-Razzaq told us, Ma'mar told us, from al-Zuhri, from Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from Hakim ibn Hizam, who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think of matters I used to devote myself to in the Age of Ignorance, such as freeing slaves and maintaining ties of kinship — is there any reward for me in them?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to him, "You have embraced Islam together with the good you did before."
