Ali ibn Bahr told us, Hatim ibn Isma'il told us — reading to us from his book — from Abd al-Rahman ibn Ata, from Abd al-Malik ibn Jabir, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when his shirt was torn at the collar until it was pulled off over his legs. The people looked at the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said: "I had ordered that my sacrificial camels, which I had sent ahead, be garlanded today and have their humps marked today, at such-and-such water. I had put on a shirt and forgotten, and I was not in the habit of taking my shirt off over my head." And he had sent his sacrificial camels from Medina while he himself remained in Medina.
