حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ قَالَ تَزَوَّجْتُ فَقَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا تَزَوَّجْتَ قَالَ قُلْتُ تَزَوَّجْتُ ثَيِّبًا فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ وَلِلْعَذَارَى وَلِعَابِهَا قَالَ شُعْبَةُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَفَهَلَّا جَارِيَةً تُلَاعِبُهَا وَتُلَاعِبُكَ حَدَّثَنَاهُمَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ يَعْنِي شَاذَانَ الْمَعْنَى.

Hashim ibn al-Qasim told us, Shu'bah told us, from Muharib ibn Dithar, who said: I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari say: "I got married," and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me: "What have you married?" He said: I said: "I married a previously-married woman." He said: "What is wrong with you and virgins, and their playfulness?" Shu'bah said: I mentioned that to Amr ibn Dinar, and he said: I heard Jabir say: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Why not a young girl, so that you could play with her and she could play with you?" Both versions were narrated to us by Aswad ibn Amir - meaning Shadhan - in meaning.
