حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَاتَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُحَارِبَ بْنَ خَصَفَةَ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُ غَوْرَثُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ حَتَّى قَامَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالسَّيْفِ فَقَالَ مَنْ يَمْنَعُكَ مِنِّي قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَسَقَطَ السَّيْفُ مِنْ يَدِهِ فَأَخَذَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مَنْ يَمْنَعُكَ مِنِّي قَالَ كُنْ كَخَيْرِ آخِذٍ قَالَ أَتَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَا وَلَكِنْ أُعَاهِدُكَ عَلَى أَنْ لَا أُقَاتِلَكَ وَلَا أَكُونَ مَعَ قَوْمٍ يُقَاتِلُونَكَ فَخَلَّى سَبِيلَهُ فَأَتَى قَوْمَهُ فَقَالَ جِئْتُكُمْ مِنْ عِنْدِ خَيْرِ النَّاسِ فَلَمَّا حَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ فَكَانَ النَّاسُ طَائِفَتَيْنِ طَائِفَةً بِإِزَاءِ الْعَدُوِّ وَطَائِفَةً صَلَّوْا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى بِالطَّائِفَةِ الَّذِينَ مَعَهُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَانْصَرَفُوا فَكَانُوا بِمَكَانِ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ بِإِزَاءِ عَدُوِّهِمْ وَانْصَرَفَ الَّذِينَ بِإِزَاءِ عَدُوِّهِمْ فَصَلَّوْا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَكَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَلِلْقَوْمِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Surayj told us, Abu Awanah told us, from Abu Bishr, from Sulayman ibn Qays, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, fought Muharib ibn Khasafah. A man from among them called Ghawrath ibn al-Harith came and stood over the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with a sword, and said: "Who will protect you from me?" He said: "Allah, Mighty and Majestic." The sword fell from his hand, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, took it and said: "Who will protect you from me?" He said: "Be like the best of those who take." He said: "Do you testify that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah?" He said: "No, but I make a covenant with you that I will not fight you, nor will I be with a people who fight you." So he let him go, and he went to his people and said: "I have come to you from the best of people." Then, when the prayer time came, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed the prayer of fear, and the people were in two groups: one group facing the enemy, and one group praying with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. He prayed two rak'ahs with the group that was with him, and they withdrew and took the place of those facing the enemy, and those facing the enemy withdrew and prayed two rak'ahs with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had four rak'ahs, while each group of the people had two rak'ahs.
