حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ وَمُوسَى بنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَصُومَ فَلْيَتَسَحَّرْ بِشَيْءٍ وَقَالَ مُوسَى وَلَوْ بِشَيْءٍ.

Abu Ahmad and Musa ibn Dawud told us, they said: Sharik told us, from 'Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Aqil, from Jabir, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said, "Whoever intends to fast, let him take a pre-dawn meal, even if only with something." Musa said: "even if with something."
