Affan told us, Wuhayb told us, Ja'far told us, from his father, from Jabir, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to al-'Aliyah and passed by the market, and passed by a dead goat kid with small ears. He picked it up and lifted it, then said: For how much would you like this to be yours? They said: We would not like it to be ours for anything; what would we do with it? He said: For how much would you like it to be yours? They said: By Allah, even if it were alive, it would be a defect in it that its ears are small, so how about now that it is dead? He said: By Allah, this world is more insignificant to Allah than this is to you.
