حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ بْنُ بَكْرِ بْنِ خُنَيْسٍ أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ سُئِلَ جَابِرٌ عَمَّا يُدْعَى لِلْمَيِّتِ فَقَالَ مَا أَبَاحَ لَنَا فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَلَا عُمَرُ.

Abd al-Quddus ibn Bakr ibn Khunays told us, Hajjaj informed us, from Abu al-Zubayr, who said: Jabir was asked about what should be supplicated for the deceased, and he said: "Nothing except what the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, permitted us in it, nor did Abu Bakr or Umar."
