Musa and Hasan told us - and the wording is Hasan's - they said: Ibn Lahi'ah told us, Abu al-Zubayr told us, who said: I asked Jabir, "Did you hear the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say that a man is counted as in prayer as long as he awaits the prayer?" He said: we waited one night for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, for the night prayer, and he was delayed from us until it was nearly the middle of the night, or close to it. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came, and we prayed. Then he said, "Sit down," and he addressed us, saying, "The people have prayed and gone to sleep, but you have remained in prayer as long as you were waiting for the prayer."
