حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا تَغَوَّطَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَمْسَحْ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ.

Hasan told us, Ibn Lahi'ah told us, Abu al-Zubayr told us, from Jabir, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, "When one of you relieves himself, let him wipe three times."
