حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ صَنَعْنَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخَّارَةً فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهَا فَوَضَعْتُهَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَاطَّلَعَ فِيهَا فَقَالَ حَسِبْتُهُ لَحْمًا فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِأَهْلِي فَذَبَحُوا لَهُ شَاةً.

Abd al-Samad told us, Abu Hilal told us, Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Talha told us, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: We made a clay pot for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and I brought it to him and placed it before him. He looked into it and said, "I thought it was meat." So I mentioned that to my family, and they slaughtered a sheep for him.
