Abu Amir al-Aqadi told us, Zuhayr told us, from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Aqil, from Jabir, that a man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: "So-and-so has a palm tree in my garden, and it has harmed me, and the location of his palm tree distresses me." So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sent for him and said: "Sell me your palm tree that is in so-and-so's garden." He said: "No." He said: "Then give it to me as a gift." He said: "No." He said: "Then sell it to me for a palm tree in Paradise." He said: "No." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I have not seen anyone more miserly than you, except one who is miserly with the greeting of peace."
