Nasr ibn Bab told us, from Hajjaj, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade selling an animal for animals on a deferred basis, two for one; but there is no harm in it hand to hand. Abdullah told us: I said to my father, "I heard Abu Khaythamah say Nasr ibn Bab is a liar." He said, "I seek Allah's forgiveness — a liar? They only criticized him because he narrated from Ibrahim al-Sa'igh, and Ibrahim al-Sa'igh was from his hometown, so it is not to be denied that he could have heard from him."
