Muhammad ibn Bakr told us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, Abu al-Zubayr informed us, that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, entered upon Aisha while she was weeping, and he said, "What makes you weep?" She said, "I weep because the people have released themselves from consecration while I have not, and they have circumambulated the House while I have not, and this Hajj has now come." He said, "This is something Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam. So take a ritual bath, enter consecration for Hajj, and perform your Hajj." She said, "So I did that. Then when I became pure, he said, 'Circumambulate the House and walk between al-Safa and al-Marwah, and then you will have released yourself from consecration for your Hajj and your Umrah.'" She said, "O Messenger of Allah, I find within myself something troubling regarding my Umrah, that I had not circumambulated before I performed Hajj." He said, "Then go with her, O Abd al-Rahman, and let her perform Umrah from al-Tan'im."
